With my type rating just 2 weeks away now, it was quite exciting when I received my first airline roster this week. With my type rating being for just over 6 weeks, it was all classroom based, but it has made me feel more like a pilot and reaffirmed that my first flight with passengers is now only months away with it having felt a long way off just a couple of months ago!
But, before I start with Flybe, I am having to go and get my Instrument Rating revalidated and my medical redone for another year. So all in all, it’s going to be a busy couple of weeks until I start – but I can’t wait!
I apologise that it has been so long since I last posted anything onto here. It has been a tricky time for me since finishing my training at CTC with job opportunities being few and far between. However, I am happy to announce that I have now been offered a job flying for Flybe!
I’ll be going into the company as a First Officer flying their Dash 8 Q400s. I haven’t yet been told where I’m going to be based but it looks like I’ll be starting my type rating in February.
It’s not been easy getting to this point, but I have eventually secured a job with an airline. I am hoping to be able to post various thoughts from throughout my type rating and beyond as I start flying passengers around Europe. (This will all be subject to what Flybe allow though, so I cannot make any promises.)
I hope that you will continue to follow my blog and thank you to all of you who have made my time through training so enjoyable.
