The end is in sight! Having completed my mocks this week, CP100 are now on the home straight. In just two weeks time, we will be having our last day at Nursling for quite a while, our second Airline Preparation Day. The next time we’ll be back at Nursling is the the Airline Qualification Course at the very end of the course.
As for my mocks, I did extremely well – better than I thought I would. I went into them thinking that I’d be happy to just get passes in all 7 but I ended up walking away with an average above 90%! I’m amazed as I really worried about a couple of the subjects. Now I just have to keep up the hard work – and the motivation – for just over a week as I continue to prepare for the actual exams, which start a week on Monday.
Fingers crossed they go as well as these mocks did!
The Christmas break has come around fast – it doesn’t feel like two weeks since I was last home and it definitely doesn’t feel like I’ve been at CTC for 3 months. How time flies!
We’re officially ‘off’ until the 2nd January but even though I’ve come home for a week, I can’t fully relax. I know that I still need to do some work.
This is essential as this break is using up most of our CBT days so my plan is to try and get slightly ahead so that I can come back in January and be able to get onto the Question Bank earlier and be really prepared for the exams.
And speaking of exams, just before we left on Friday, the exam results came in. Seeing the whole class waiting, you could feel the stress and tension in the air.
Fortunately, I passed all seven exams, so I can now go into Module 2 and just focus on those exams. Well done to everyone who got results in CP100, hope they were what you wanted.
And for everyone questioning the speed that I managed to finish the VFR Comms paper in (2 and a half minutes for the half hour paper), I managed to get 100% in it. I think that proves I didn’t go through it too fast!
But now it’s time for me to enjoy my Christmas break back at home with the family. I’m heading back down to Southampton on the 29th December so this week is a time to chill out a bit and meet up with all of my mates.
Today saw CP100 finish our mock exams for Module 1!
It went really well for me, but I obviously can’t comment for everyone on the course.
What it has flagged up for all of us, I think, is where our weaknesses lie and this should allow us to focus our revision on that over the coming 12 days before our real exams start. I certainly know for me that I just need to remember some of the facts and stop making silly mistakes!
And as I just mentioned, we are now off for 12 days. It will be a lot of work but just think, in three weeks time, it’ll all be over and we’ll have started Module 2! (Actually, I don’t know if that’s something to get excited about…)
But tonight, it’s time for a night off the work and just time to relax.
Last week we moved house and we it seems to be a good house, although there were a few bits and pieces missing. I have got the smallest room though but I think that I’ve managed to utilise the room’s space and fitted a big desk in there, so I’ll make do with it.
In other news, we’ve nearly finished our third groundschool subject, Air Law. We’ve got one more day to finish it in lessons next week, although I have already jumped ahead on the CBT and finished it. (Yes, I know that’s rather geeky!) That now makes it Principles of Flight, Aircraft General Knowledge, Air Law and Comms (another one of my pre-learning sessions on the CBT!)
This week also saw CP101 have their Meet & Greet and APD. This means that we’re no longer the ‘babys’ of CTC. We have four of them staying next door to us and I wish them all the best as they start on their journey.
